This ministry is dedicated to providing prayerful and inspiring celebrations which praise God and revitalize personal and community faith.
The Liturgy Committee serves as the planning body for all the elements of our parish worship. Meets monthly.
Lectors are adults and youth with good voice quality who can enunciate clearly and read with understanding of and reverence for God's Word. Training is required. Lectors are scheduled for Sunday and Holyday Masses.
Eucharistic Ministers are faith filled persons who help distribute the Eucharist at Mass. Duties include: serving at the Mass when scheduled, the responsibility of finding a replacement in the event you are unable to attend the assigned Mass. Neat attire is required. Also some of the ministers help distribute Holy Communion to those who are unable to attend Mass. These ministers for the "Homebound" take the Eucharist to the homebound and our parishioners in the nursing homes.
Altar Servers are conscientious young people both girls and boys. They minister during Mass and other liturgical celebrations. Starting age is 4th grade.
Ushers are men and women who greet their fellow worshipers as they arrive, assist with the collection, direct the Communion procession and see to the good order of the church after the services are finished.
Gift Bearers are families and/or individuals who are willing to assist in bringing up the gifts of bread, wine and money at Sunday and Holyday Mass.
The Art and Environment of the Church is assisted by persons interested in floral arrangements, plant care and liturgical -seasonal decorations.
Music Ministers are people with a willingness and talent for “making a joyful sound unto the Lord.” Our parish has a mixed voice choir, a youth choir and a folk group. Cantors lead our singing and instrumentalists of every sort are welcome.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place in the Jesus, King of Angels Chapel located in St. Vincent de Paul Church. Parishioners are scheduled to spend some time, usually 1 hour, in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. Days of Exposition are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Also, the first Saturday of the month.
The Rosary Group meets each Sunday at 10:15 am at St. John, and Wednesday at 5:30pm at Sacred Heart to pray the Rosary for special intentions and for the intentions of the Holy Father.
Women's Rosary Group meets each Tuesday at 12:30pm at Old Cathedral.
Men's Rosary Group meets Saturday mornings at 6:30 am at Old Cathedral.
St. Francis Xavier Altar Society is an organization of women of the parish who meet for fellowship, formation and who support the Worship needs of our parish by several fund raising activities. There are annual dues and with every meeting a meal is served.
The Society meets 8 times a year.
